and the 2008 conference in Vancouver, WA.

The 2007 conference was my first introduction to unschooling families and truly changed my goals in life and let me wrap my mind around some really new-to-me thoughts and concepts. I was completely overwhelmed while there, but after being home for a month or two it began to sink in. I don't know if you remember how nervous I was last year, 2008, about my husband coming and how I was scared that he would not like it and reject unschooling, etc... well, it was the single best, most amazing, life changing, marriage changing, earth shattering incredible thing that has EVER happened to our family! It truly was a springboard to understanding and acceptance and I'm eternally grateful. ~ Linda P., ID

The conference is sooo cool, it is even cool just standing there doing nothing. It feels good. And nothing is more fun than being at an unschooling conference. ~Jazmin W. (age 10), CA

It is a pretty cool feeling just to be surrounded by families of all ages who live unschooling every day, and totally get your life without you having to explain a thing! We literally take over the hotel, which is a sight in itself. ~Gillian M., Victoria, Canada

LIFE is Good is a place where everyone is relaxed and happy and you just feel so good the whole time...ah, if only all of life could be like LIFE is Good! ~Seth T. (age 8), OR

Sigh....this conference has been a blast! There is nothing, NOTHING like being with so many unschoolers in Real Life!!!!!!!!! Thank you ALL! ~Mary L., OR

It was wonderful to see so many whole children in one place. I'm so used to seeing kids that are already shut down. Kids here have so much exuberance. I loved that the older kids actually spoke to the little kids and treated them like people, and the teens treated the adults like people!
Anyways, it was wonderful and we will definitely be back next year! ~Traci N., AZ

I just needed to tell you that we LOVED it!! It was worth the drive (worth the: are we there yet? Every 15 minutes from the kids). The FEELING of being surrounded by other unschoolers is priceless! The love and joy coming from everyone, is just wonderful!! I loved meeting people and just loved it! I can’t thank you all enough!! ~Brenda W., NV

I feel even more centered on the path now, having been in the company of others who have and continue to walk it. Watching my daughter Michelle make her own connections, finding kids of like interests and sensibilities was too cool. She says "It was the best conference EVER. I had a BLAST!
I have friends who live in SO many places now." ~Robin B., WA

The people we met were amazing, the speakers were awesome, and all was good. I learned SO much about myself, about the unschooling philosophy, and how wonderful the journey of unschooling is, but the best thing is my new-found appreciation for Riley, and how blessed I am to be able to spend every day with such a great kid! ~Jodi Z., WA

The LIFE is Good conference has been a great experience for our family. As the foundation is being built for our castle in the sky, we will carry with us the connections we made, the things learned and those we unlearned. : )
Eternally grateful. ~Martha R., CA

Thank you to Mary Lewis for the math talk! My 13yo listened in as well. It was a positive reaffirming thing for her. So many of her peers try to make her think she's stupid for not knowing "this that and the other thing". So, Mary was up there saying all the same things that I've been saying to my daughter, but somehow, hearing from another person was comforting and reaffirming. Especially the specific video game example given in the talk because my daughter did that exact game and did that exact challenge and knew exactly what Mary was referring to. ~Jenny C., OR

We got home Thursday night. After the conference, we took a trip up to Washington, Port Angeles and Port Townsend. Then headed back to California. It was a nice way to transition to our daily life. Especially since we don't want this to end. I am definitely integrating the conference vibe into myself and life. I am looking for the joyful path in my movement throughout the day and especially the interaction with my kids. ~Beverly, CA
